On a recent search through an older hard drive I came across a very diverse set of photos that all began with ‘July 4th.’ Some poor labeling of photos led to the photos from 2010 and 2011′s 4th of July festivities being mixed together. I was kind of struck by how Florida’esque both years were but, so very different. I decided to throw some of these together before I did a post about this year’s 4th.

In 2010 I went to a beautiful beach house in New Smyrna with a group of some of my closest friends. The east coast produced some small waves, the weather was in the 70′s, and everyone was stoked on being able to get away to the ocean.

I managed to start my hour drive from Orlando to Smyrna bright and early in the morning so I figured I’d stop off at one of my favorite central Florida places to shoot a couple photos on the way out there.

In 2011 I attended a Slip and Slide party in my neighborhood in Orlando. I rode my bike there with a few friends and slid the shit out of the “slip and slide” even as a torrential downpour tried to ruin everyone’s fun. Though I didn’t manage to get a single picture of the Slip and Slide it was quite impressive, at least 100 feet downhill and made out of old FEMA tarps I was told.

In 2012 I bought a ticket the morning of the 3rd to meet some friends in Vegas that night. It had been ten years since my one and only visit to Vegas so I figured it was time to head back. My friend Brian from Orlando was already out there so I met with him and 32 hours of chaos ensued.
