Tony the Turk

His spirit was infectious and I felt I had to buy something…

Last December when visiting my parents in Pensacola I drove past an interesting yard sale happening at an abandoned gas station. I stopped to have a look around and the sale’s proprietor “Tony the Turk” Tony showed me some of the stuff he had for sale and told me of his years selling some of the finest Turkish rugs all around

the U.S. He even dug up some pictures he had taken along the way. His spirit was infectious and I felt I had to buy something. When he showed me his shoes he used to wear out dancing as young man I was intrigued, size 12, the same as me. Three dollars later I left with a pair of shoes and a new friend.
